Beyond Boundaries (2023)

Beyond Boundaries (2023) is an audio-visual storytelling exhibition in partnership with the International Student Centre at the University of Toronto Scarborough. This exhibition celebrates the power of art as a universal language that transcends borders, language, and barriers, connecting us through the profound expression of human imagination.

Each piece depicts the story of an international student at UTSC that has been carefully collected by a team of interviewers. As you move through the exhibition, scan the QR codes to read or listen to the stories of each student.

This is not just an exhibition; it's a platform for dialogue, understanding, and mutual appreciation. It's an opportunity to break down the barriers that separate us. Through art, we have the opportunity to foster a shared sense of humanity. Spend some time in our Dialogue Space to share your thoughts on the exhibition and connect with fellow gallery-goers.

Embark on a journey that takes you to various corners of the globe. Each piece is your passport to a new perspective. Our young artists, hailing from various countries, backgrounds, and experiences, come together to explore, challenge, and redefine the boundaries of artistic expression. Through their art, they share their unique narratives, experiences, and perspectives, drawing inspiration from their roots and the university experience abroad.

Featuring artworks by Shen Hu, Thea Vu-Nguyen, Athena He, Tajreen Ahmed, Arishba, Hycil Fernandes and Madusha Fernando.
